Bangladesh Marketing & Social Research Society (BMSRS) is a non-profit organisation, registered in Bangladesh as a Society (Reg. No. S-11065, 2010), on 21 December 2010, under the Societies Registration ACT, XXI of 1860.
BMSRS is the only body of marketing and social research professionals in Bangladesh.
Objects of the Society, as established in the Memorandum and Articles of Association (the Constitution), are to:
a) Promote the quality and value of marketing and social research in understanding real market and development issues, and bringing about effective decision-making;
b) Take action, as per the laws of the land, for preservation of rights and interests of the members of the Society;
c) Facilitate initiation and continuation of dialogue, amongst member or non-member individuals or organizations, by creating and managing a comprehensive program of industry-specific and thematic conferences, publications (including members’ directory) and communications – printed and digital/online;
d) Facilitate development of the industry by:
i. Supporting young talents via providing professional training/qualification and internship opportunities
ii. Holding technical workshops for researchers – both providers and users
iii. Providing support to individual members for participation in international conferences and workshops
iv. Developing/adapting new methodologies/technologies in collaboration with the Academia and other local market and/or socio-economic development research, and management consulting institutions as well as global, regional and national professional bodies
v. Encouraging healthy competition and cooperation, and high standards of professionalism by way of advocating collective self-regulation
vi. Working towards decreasing the country’s dependence on foreign researchers and consultants
vii. Promoting membership of Bangladeshi professional researchers, consultants, academicians and students.
